Hello! I am very excited to in Hereford ISD for my 2nd year and my 13th year teaching! I feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community!
My Education: I earned my Associates of Science in Music from Amarillo College, my Bachelor's of Music in Education from West Texas A&M University in Dec. 2006 and then her Masters Degree in Dec. 2010 in Music Education with an emphasis in Kodaly Music Education.
My Teaching: This is my 13th year of teaching Choir! Previously, I was at West Central Elementary here in Hereford and I worked for AISD for 11 years before to coming to HISD. While in AISD, I served as the Choral Director at Travis MS and Travis 6th Campus. While in AISD, I served as the JH/MS Region Coordinator-Elect for 2 years and Coordinator for 2 years. I have taken my choirs to numerous competitions including UIL where we earned 1's both on stage and in Sight-reading consistently earning Superior & Excellent Ratings. Students within my choir attended Greater Southwest Music Festival and her 6th Grade choir earned the Beginner Choir Best In Class 3 times, my 7th Grade Girls earned the Best in Class for JV Choir and most recently, my MEN's Choir earned the Best in Class distinction as well!
We attended the Dumas Music Festival, the Great American Classic Music Festival in Dallas and the Irons Music Festival in Lubbock. Again, at all of the different competitions, the choirs earned consistent Superior Ratings as wells as Best in Class Distinctions.
Personal: I live in Canyon with my husband and my two crazy kiddos, Bella & Tony! Mr. Wells works at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and my kids attend school in Canyon as well. Along with the human family members, I also has 4 pets that are just like family members! Nacho & Sabrina (the Dogs!) and Mosqui & Chiquito (the Cats!). I am on the worship team as the piano player for Victory Church in Amarillo.
This year is going to be an amazing year for both myself and my choirs!
I look forward to immersing myself into the world of Choral Music once again and showing the Amazing kiddos at HPA how fun choir can be!
