Mrs. Warrilow's 6th Math and Math Mavericks

Welcome to 6th Grade Math at HJH!

I am so glad to meet each and every one of you and welcome you to my classroom for the 2021-2022 school year.  I have a feeling this is going to be a great year in the making!

I would like to give each of you a brief introduction.  I was born and raised in a small town of a whopping population of around 3,000 people in the Northwestern corner of Tennessee.  I am married to James Warrilow, who is a physician’s assistant at the Moore County Bone and Joint Clinic in Dumas, TX.  We have two children, Gracie, who is a junior and Wesley, who is an 8th grader.  In 2007, I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Business from Bethel University and in 2010, I completed my Masters of Art in Teaching degree at Bethel University.  I have licensure endorsements in K-6, 4-8, 7-12 Biology and ESL.  I am a certified teacher in Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas.  I have taught every core content area at some point with a main focus on Science.  My first year teaching I received NASA recognition and was one of 14 teachers across the nation to get the opportunity to work at Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio at the Xtreme Green Laboratory during the summer.  I was honored and recognized by the State of TN with a Proclamation from the Governor for my classroom accomplishments.  Science is my passion, but Math is a must!  As I tell my own children, we would not have reached the moon without mathematics! Those hidden figures can be a tricky bunch!

This is my first year at HJH, but my 9th year teaching.  I am excited that this year will be a great opportunity to grow academically together. I expect great things from each one of you.  I am here to help in any way I can because this year is about you and getting you to your goals. Seventh grade is just around the corner and will be here before you know it! It is your turn to accomplish great achievements, and I believe with the right guidance anything is possible.  I want you to know I'm excited to see what all this year has in store for each of you and remember when you enter HJH, ALL means ALL!  You are the maker of your own destiny…...

Let's make this year count!
